Aftar trained with Irwin Mitchell and qualified as a Solicitor in 2007. On qualification, she specialised in Professional Negligence claims, suing solicitors and barristers who had failed to diligently prosecute personal injury and clinical negligence claims. Aftar joined Pryers in February 2011, and now deals with a variety of clinical negligence cases.

Prior to her legal career, Aftar taught in a Primary School during the day, and was an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Tutor in the evening, in her home town of Burton On Trent in Staffordshire.

Aftar is a keen DIY enthusiast and enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 young boys.
