Katie studied Law and Social Policy at the University of Lincoln before completing the Legal Practice Course in York in 2006. She undertook her training contract at McKinnells in Lincoln, where her final seat was in personal injury. Katie joined Pryers before qualifying in June 2009.

Outside work Katie enjoys horse-riding, reading and socialising.
