A compensation claim is to be launched against a shop in Bristol after a baby was injured by a glass door.
The baby, named only as Daniel, was in his pushchair when a glass door shattered, showering him with glass, the BBC reports.
Although he only suffered a cut to his right eyelid, his grandmother said he could have been badly hurt.
"If his eye had been opened, I really believe Daniel may have lost his eye. At the time, it was very, very scary. He was covered in blood," she remarked.
A spokesperson from the store, Harvey Nichols in Bristol Cabot Circus, said CCTV footage of the incident is being examined and the Health and Safety Executive said it was looking into the case.
Shops and supermarkets have a duty of care for their customers and a compensation claim may be launched if an injury occurs because of negligence.

A disabled cyclist has been awarded compensation after he was injured in an accident caused by hedge debris.
Andy Ebben, 55, was riding his specially-adapted bike down a country lane when both of his tyres were punctures by hawthorn and blackthorn that had been clipped and not cleared up.
He was thrown from his bike – which was seriously damaged – and suffered cuts and bruises. He also had to call for help from the side of the road when he could not get up.
Mr Ebben has now been paid an undisclosed sum of compensation from the landowner and said that more consideration should be given to road users.
"If there had been warning signs, I would have taken an alternative route that day. There is a clear responsibility to warn road users of potential hazards and to clear the road as soon as possible," he commented.
Cyclists injured in road accidents may be able to claim compensation for pain and suffering, treatment costs and cycle repair if it can be proved that the accident happened as a result of negligence.

A woman who battled for six years for money to look after her brain-damaged husband has secured a compensation payout which will allow her to bring him home.
Paul Yeomans, 31, was hit by a van going the wrong way down a one-way street in 2000.
He was crushed under the vehicle and suffered serious brain damage when his heart stopped and his brain was starved of oxygen.
Doctors told his wife Rachael, 29, that he would never speak again and would be better off in a nursing home.
However, she refused to believe this and sought compensation to pay for his lifetime care.
She has now been paid a lump sum of £1.6 million and will also receive £225,000 a year for the rest of his life from the vehicle’s insurers, Norwich Union.
"We can finally live together as a married couple again. It is what we always wanted," Ms Yeomans said to the Derby Evening Telegraph.
Pedestrians are one of the most at risk groups from being seriously injured if they are involved in a road traffic collision, which is why pedestrians must be given right of way by motorists.
A compensation claim can be made for injuries if it can be proven that the driver of the vehicle was responsible for the collision.

The family of a man who died from asbestos exposure have won a compensation battle with his former employers.
Robert Earl, 64, contracted mesothelioma and died in 2005 after having worked as a mechanic in 1969.
His family argued that he had been exposed to asbestos within brake linings and that the company had not provided protective clothing or breathing apparatus, reports the News and Star.
In a new development, Mr Earle’s family have reached an out of court settlement with County Garage and will be paid an undisclosed sum of compensation, although the firm did not admit liability.
Mr Earle’s son Anthony said: "The last few years have been very difficult for my family. No amount of compensation can replace what we have lost, but we hope we can now move forward."
Exposure to asbestos has been recognised as a health hazard since the early 1900s, although many workers were exposed to the substance decades after this.
If a person can prove they were exposed to asbestos as a result of negligence, they may be able to make a claim for compensation and should seek legal advice.

Compensation is to be awarded to a man who suffered horrific injuries as a result of a boiler explosion.
The unnamed man, an engineer surveyor, was inspecting a boiler belonging to E.ON UK in May 2005, the Workplace Law Network reports.
However, the gas side of the boiler exploded, knocking him unconscious and trapping him under a hot boiler door.
He suffered burns to his abdomen, hands and face, as well as an injury to his leg and severe psychological trauma.
As a result, the worker had to have skin grafts and plastic surgery and was unable to return to his position.
A payout of £170,000 has now been agreed upon, which his solicitor said means he will not need to return to that kind of work.
"It is entirely understandable that he never wants to be in an environment that brings back the psychological trauma of the explosion. This settlement ensures he will not be forced to and will now be able to make the relevant adaptations to his life," the legal representative commented.
Compensation for burns depend on the severity of the injury sustained, however, will usually be awarded for psychological trauma, loss of earnings, future treatments and other problems arising from the injuries.
