Clinical Negligence - Birth Injuries

Our Clinical Negligence Solicitors and Litigation Lawyers have a significant amount of experience in pursuing cases for children and young adults with cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a movement disorder arising from injury to a child's brain. Cerebral palsy is often associated with other symptoms of child brain injury such as sensory abnormalities, defects in hearing and vision or intellectual impairment.

Cerebral palsy and brain injury in children can arise from events around the time of delivery such as delay in delivery causing deprivation of oxygen or from events early in a child's life such as low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia), failure to diagnose or treat jaundice (hyperbilirubinanaemia and kernicterus) or delay in diagnosis or treatment of serious medical conditions such as meningitis.

Our solicitors are often approached by families devastated at being told that their young baby has been diagnosed with brain injury. They are concerned that events during the course of delivery or shortly after delivery may have caused or contributed to the injuries that have occurred.

Our experienced team of lawyers with assistance from other solicitors and midwives, deals with many cerebral palsy cases at any one time. This experience means that we can ensure that claims are investigated thoroughly and promptly by solicitors who deal with such cases on a very regular basis.

We have clients all over the country and are pleased to visit families in their homes so that we can listen to your needs and advise you face to face. We feel that it is important that our clients get to see us and get to know the solicitor conducting their case so that we are able to understand your individual needs.

We are often contacted by families who have been to other solicitors and been advised that they have no case or are frustrated by the lack of progress in their case. We are happy to review cases and sometimes find that cases have been investigated inadequately by other solicitors, some of whom simply do not have the right amount of skills and experience to be running these complex cases.

Through other departments within the firm we can ensure, after settlements have been achieved, that they are managed in the most advantageous way possible and we can provide practical and legal assistance in dealing with the Court of Protection.

We have achieved settlements running in to millions of pounds in our cases.
