When unacceptable care or neglect by the staff of a nursing home causes an injury to a resident, the nursing home can be sued for compensation. In particular we are regularly instructed by residents of nursing homes (or their families) who develop pressure sores. Pressure sores are usually both foreseeable and preventable and require specialist management. Without appropriate prevention and management the consequences can be devastating, often including infection or long standing open wounds requiring further surgery.
